welcome to nirvana

Inspired by the magic of the word 'Nirvana', our mission is to create a friendly, welcoming space where curiosity and your mind-body connection come first. In short, we’re all about good vibes, great yoga, and leaving your mat feeling lighter, calmer, and happier.

what sets us apart?

  • a vibrant community

More than a studio, Nirvana is a place to belong. Connect with others who share your journey, turn strangers into friends, and find support as you grow on and off the mat.

  • curiosity

Nirvana means “total happiness and liberation” and we want our classes to reflect that. When you arrive on your mat, expect a sense of play, a laid-back environment, and tunes that match the rhythm of your soul.

  • yoga accessibility

Beginners or seasoned yogis, our supportive teachers make every class approachable for all skill levels. Affordable options like our weekly $5 Community Flow keep yoga open to all.

  • consistency

We don’t just talk the talk, but we walk the… downward facing dog! Studio guidelines are upheld everyday and outlined in our FAQs here. With consistent opportunities to show up for yourself, our goal is for you to feel supported, confident, and part of a community.

My yoga journey began during a college summer internship in Denver, where I discovered how great yoga made my body and mind feel, especially as someone managing scoliosis since childhood. After many years of teaching and deepening my practice in Grand Rapids, MI, I felt called to bring that passion back to my hometown.

In March 2024, I opened Nirvana Yoga House with a vision of creating a welcoming and lighthearted space where everyone can feel empowered to explore their practice, connect with others, and, of course, flow to plenty of vibey tunes!

Aside from yoga, I love spending time with my little family and our animals, traveling, and boating or paddle boarding on our lake.

    MY NIRVANA
The sun hitting my face, the post-class Buti bliss, the view at the end of a hike.

From the moment I stepped into Nirvana Yoga it felt like home to me. I cannot wait to get to know each and every one of you. I completed my yoga teacher training in 2024, but I’ve been taking yoga classes on and off for around 10 years.

Outside of yoga I am a HUGE animal lover, my husband and I have four rescue pups and I even own my own dog treat bakery! I love curling up on the couch with my pups, a good book or some type of reality tv. I love being outside or in the water. I’m definitely a true Cancer!

    MY NIRVANA
Sun out, windows down, music playing. I’m a sucker for good tunes. An early morning sunrise grounding session when the grass is cool between my toes.

I started practicing yoga over 12 years ago and it has forever changed my life! I completed my yoga teacher training in 2024 here at Nirvana. I became a yoga teacher to not only deepen my practice, but to also give me an outlet as a mom of three littles and to pursue something I am passionate about.

    MY NIRVANA
Sunsets on the lake, hugs + kisses from my three babes, live outdoor music.

I completed my yoga teacher training here at Nirvana in May of 2025 and have been practicing in some way, shape, or form, for over 4 years. This yoga studio is so special and near to my heart and I am beyond excited to be a part of its safe, fun, and loving environment.

Off the mat, I’m a graduate student pursuing my masters in mental health counseling. I love to read, learn new things, and spend time in nature.

    MY NIRVANA
Sitting near the lake, listening to the waves, soaking up the sun, with my nose in a book. I also love rainy nights in, cozied up with my two cats.

I completed my yoga teacher training here at Nirvana in May 2025, but first stumbled upon yoga in 2016 while living out in California. Through my practice, I've found a profound sense of connection and balance and it's helped me appreciate every single one of life's experiences - the triumphs and setbacks.

Off the mat, I'm very passionate about rock climbing, getting lost in a new art project, and exploring nature with my lil family.

    MY NIRVANA
Quiet, crisp mornings outside with a hot cup of coffee, late nights around a campfire, and cuddles with my little girl.

Yoga was something I was always drawn to, but I did not dive into my practice until January 2024. I completed my yoga teacher training in Bali, July 2024, and finished my Children’s and Buti Yoga certificates summer of 2025.

If I am not teaching yoga, you can find me busy teaching a classroom full of Kindergarteners. When I am not teaching, I love to read, travel, hike, garden, and spend time outside in the sun! I am beyond grateful that yoga found me.

    MY NIRVANA
Sipping a lavender matcha while thrifting, reading a series with my black cat on my lap, soaking up the sun at the beach, dancing, walking barefoot in my grandparent’s yard, seeing my favorite artists in concert.

I found yoga while recovering from a knee injury, and have been practicing for almost five years now. After moving back to South Bend, I was looking for community and found Nirvana. I fell in love with the practice and the community, and graduated from yoga teacher training here in March 2026. My goal as a teacher is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all body types.

Off the mat, I work full time as a creative project manager at a Chicago-based branding agency. I live with my partner of 9 years and my golden retriever, Clark. My hobbies include finding cute coffee shops, reading, and shopping.

    MY NIRVANA
Sitting on my patio enjoying the breeze on a summer afternoon. Watching the sunset over Lake Michigan with my toes in the water. Driving with the windows down listening to my latest music obsession.

I've been doing yoga on and off for about 20 years, and completed the teacher training at Nirvana in 2026. Yoga has been a source of both physical and mental wellbeing for me and my goals as an instructor are to assist others in finding the combination of both.

When I am not doing yoga, I am a professor at a local university. I have been married for almost 30 years, have three children in various stages of adulting from college student to married, and two sweet dogs.

    MY NIRVANA
Sitting outside with a book, my husband, and my dogs at sunset - it fills my heart and all my senses at once.

I found yoga shortly after my multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2025. I instantly fell in love with it! Nirvana Yoga is special to me in many different ways. I graduated from yoga teacher training here in March 2026.

Off the mat, you’ll find an iced coffee in my hand as I work full-time as a personnel clerk. I have three amazing children, a four-year-old labradoodle, and a significant other of seven years.

    MY NIRVANA
On a boat with loved ones, singing and dancing to 2000s R&B music!
